RecallXP is a Chrome extension by Xplorence (a solo developer) that lets you search your own ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini conversations.
What stays on your device. When you open a conversation on chatgpt.com, chat.openai.com, claude.ai, or gemini.google.com, RecallXP reads that page's text (your chats — "website content" and "personal communications" in Chrome Web Store terms) and saves it in Chrome's local storage (chrome.storage.local) on your computer, solely so you can search it later. If you choose the optional Pro "import history" feature, RecallXP uses your existing logged-in session on ChatGPT or Claude to read your past conversations from those services and save them locally the same way — this runs entirely in your browser. Your conversations never leave your device. We have no servers and no way to see them.
What we never do. No analytics, no telemetry, no tracking, no ads, no account, no selling or sharing of data. We never transmit your conversations anywhere.
The one exception: payments. Upgrades are processed by Polar (our merchant of record) with Stripe as the underlying payment processor. To check whether your Pro license is active, the extension contacts api.polar.sh with your license key — never any chat content. If you choose to pay, you provide your email and payment details directly to Polar on their checkout pages, under Polar's privacy policy. We never see your card details.
Permissions, in plain English.
Limited Use. RecallXP's use of data complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements: data is used only for its single purpose (searching your own chats), never transferred except as described above, and never used for advertising or creditworthiness.
Deleting your data. Use the ⋯ menu inside RecallXP to clear any or all indexed chats at any time. Uninstalling RecallXP also permanently deletes everything it stored.
GDPR / CCPA. Because your conversations never reach us, we hold no personal data to access, sell, or delete. For payment data, contact Polar — or email me and I'll help.
